Install the RGB proof profileInstall the CMYK TIFF proof profile
Copy the .icc file into your user profiles folder. Create the folder if it does not exist.
Right-click the .icc file and choose Install Profile. Windows places it in the system color folder for you.
Replacing an older copy? Keep the same filename, check it against the published SHA-256, then restart PhotoshopIllustrator.

Flip Proof Colors on and off
Toggle with ⌘YCtrl+Y to compare your file with the estimated print. The document title shows the proof profile while it is on.
Illustrator has no default shortcut for Proof Colors. Assign one in Edit › Keyboard Shortcuts if you toggle it often.
Pale tints, fine lettering and dark shadows are where the print most often surprises. Look there first.

Export as usual
Keep your normal working profiles and production export settings. If export changes the color mode, open the exported file and proof it again with the matching profile.
That is it. The profile stays in the proof menu from now on, and Proof Setup settings persist between sessions.
Do
- Use the profile only as a viewing filter in Proof Setup.
- Build artwork with the original FPT recipes from the .ase library.
- Calibrate your monitor and review in neutral light.
- Approve color-critical work with a physical sample on the food.
Don’t
- Assign, convert or export artwork to a proof profile.
- Paste estimate HEX values into production files.
- Convert the swatch library to CMYK. Its recipes change.
- Expect Preserve Numbers to undo a conversion already made.
Troubleshooting
The FPT profile is missing from the list
Confirm the file is in the profiles folder for your system, then quit and reopen Adobe. Profiles are only found at launch.
Preserve Numbers is unavailable
The document’s color mode doesn’t match the profile. Use the RGB profile for RGB documents and the CMYK TIFF profile for CMYK, or proof the exported file in its matching mode.
The proof looks different from the website palette
The website shows sRGB estimates. Adobe proofs through your monitor profile. Small differences are normal; trust Adobe on a calibrated display.
The swatch names don’t match what I see
Names describe the estimated print. Turn Proof Colors on and “FPT001 – Red” will look red.
What does the CMYK TIFF profile represent?
The controller’s CMYK32 TIFF loader path, not direct CMYK ink coverage. Use it only when that is the file you send.
